Lori Byers Walsh has written and published hundreds of newspaper articles, magazine features, essays, reviews, and poems. Her poetry has been featured in the children’s magazines Babybug and Ladybug and has been accepted for publication with Spider. Her articles and essays have appeared in the Argus Leader newspaper and various magazines, including one of her all time favorites—the now defunct Wahine. Her reviews have been accepted for publication with Brain,Child magazine, and she has written for Humanities, a publication of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Byers Walsh has paused her writing residencies for her current work with South Dakota Public Broadcasting where she is the host of the daily news and culture talk program “In the Moment.”

Lori Byers Walsh is a member of the National Book Critics Circle, and the Society for Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. She is a South Dakota One Book scholar, available for book groups through the South Dakota Humanities Council. She also teaches writing workshops for adults and children.
